A brief overview of my 40 year career as a counselor, teacher, educational administrator and massage therapist.
I am a veteran (U S Army Medical Service Corps Officer) who served from 72 to 74. In addition to my administrative duties supervising medics who served in Vietnam, I also was my company’s (629th Med Co.) drug and alcohol counselor as well as the units race relations officer.
After being honorably discharged, I worked for two years as a counselor working with veterans as part of the faculty at Monterey Peninsula College’s Counseling Dept and taught classes on Applied Psychology and Men’s Health.
My interests in health lead me to founding two massage schools: one in Monterey California–the Monterey Institute of Touch (MIT) and the other on the island of Maui, HI–The Maui Academy of Healing Arts. After 29 years of running my school, I have sold my school and now do private individual integrative body/mind sessions and teach therapeutic communication and a variety of advanced integrative massage classes and supervise massage clinics.
My business background (BS from ASU 69) coupled with my almost thirty years of administrative experience of running my own school provides a solid background for providing consultation to small business owners and educators.
My on-going focus is to continue to evolve consciously and spiritually while providing service to others in creating and sustaining healthy communities.
